A river the color of hot chocolate
fills the Inner Gorge with the 3.5 white noise of Diamond Creek Rapids.   The clear water of the creek is lost within a foot of its entering the storm swollen Colorado.   Bodys bend toward unheard moving lips, hands cupping ears.   Voices rise, but water, pounding rock, takes the day.   Most move upstream to sandy beaches and calm.   A few stay, their spirit having been swept away on a river flowing since before the birth of humanity; excavating earth and time to reveal The Canyon that these few, only now, have become open to the possibility of understanding...
